Arms-Length Photography - I try to take a 3 mile walk around a lake
near my house every day. So today I decided to document my daily
adventure with the StickPic. This handy little tool...it only weighs
10.5 grams...allows a hiker to be part of the "big picture." All you
need is a camera, a trekking pole/hiking stick, the StickPic and your
in business. Simply screw the StickPic into your camera's tripod
socket, slide the whole thing over the tip of your trekking pole and
fire away. Set your camera to "Video" and you can star in your own
movie. They say to wipe your trekking pole tip clean. My tripod socket
is off-center and with a clean tip, my camera kept tipping over...a
little grit does help. Attach your camera's wrist strap to the trekking
pole just in case the whole thing wants to head south. There are
different models for different brands of trekking poles, so check out
their website. The inventors, Rod Java and David Lopez, are avid backpackers and their self-produced website is a great place to visit. Here are my pics and this proves that you can even use it with one hand behind your back.
